The Seii family homestead
Long before opening its gates to global travelers, this property was built simply as a private residence. Nestled under the deep green tree canopy of Kilimani, the house was shaped around shared meals, open veranda conversations, and an early appreciation for local materials and architectural grounding.
An intentional open door strategy
As guests, thinkers, and global colleagues passing through Nairobi naturally gravitated toward the house, the family noticed a recurring pattern. Visitors were actively looking for an alternative to transactional, sterile hotel corridors—they wanted an authentic sense of home, complete with courtyard gardens and room to simply breathe.
A living Kilimani sanctuary
Today, under Jerotich Seii’s care, the property functions as a curated collection of ten uniquely arranged spaces. While it has evolved to host remote builders, writers, and international explorers, the core ethos remains grounded in quiet hospitality, custom timber craftsmanship, and preserving a peaceful pocket within the city.
